Nadira Akhonova, an Emmy Award-winning producer from Semey, Kazakhstan, currently based in London, UK, has been a pivotal force in bringing Kazakh stories and cinema to a global audience for over a decade.
Akhonova’s projects are not only diverse but also insightful and entertaining, covering a wide array of subjects, including sports, travel, spiritualism, economics, and culture. Excelling in delivering content to international audiences across Europe, the Americas, and the Turkic countries, she has left an indelible mark on the industry.
In her journey as a producer, Ms. Akhonova has collaborated with industry giants such as HBO, Vice, and Bloomberg, accumulating an impressive list of accomplishments and accolades. Notable productions include “Genetic Passport” with HBO and the Telly Award-winning “My Kazakhstan” with Bloomberg Media.
Her involvement in feature films like “3riple B,” “Reparation,” and “The Steed” by Mongolian director Ganboldin Erdenebilag showcases her dedication to impactful storytelling. Notably, Erdenebilag’s film won awards at esteemed festivals like the San Diego Film Festival, Oldenburg Film Festival, and the Ouray International Film Festival in Colorado.
In addition to her prowess behind the scenes, Nadira Akhonova has also taken center stage, starring in the short film “Discommunication” by Japanese director Masaru Yasokawa.
